Hello !
My name is Mauricio Akl Batista, I was born in 2000 and have had the luck to be able to study architecture. If I would have to describe myself I would say I am someone eager to learn new things, especially related to sustainability and how to implement things into the buildings or interior. I believe that in order to create something new by yourself, it is important to to learn the basics and perfect them first.
I am very passionate when it comes to working with other people and always look for the best possible outcome when it comes delivering work to clients without neglecting the team I work with, as I believe no good work can ever be done without having a good relationship in the workplace and good work dynamic with your peers.
I am very inclined towards my favourite kind of architecture which I started liking after graduating, which is Eco-Brutalism. I find that the mixture of concrete and sharp clean shapes contrasted by the organic shapes and the bright colours of vegetation provide a perfect balance in architecture.

My Story
Originally from Venezuela, I moved to Spain at the age of 6, where I grew up surrounded by a rich mix of cultures, history, and European architectural influences. Those years sparked my fascination with how art, functionality, and the environment can come together to shape the way we live.
At 17, I moved to the UAE to pursue my degree in Architecture at the Canadian University Dubai, where I graduated with a strong foundation in design principles and a forward-thinking mindset. My love of art has always informed my vision as a designer — even back in high school, I chose art as my focus for my GCSEs, cultivating a creative, innovative perspective that I bring into every project.
Throughout my professional journey, I’ve worked on diverse projects, gaining hands-on experience in residential design, and taking on a curatorial role in laboratory design and specifications — delivering highly specialized spaces tailored to unique client needs.
What drives me most is the opportunity to innovate while practicing sustainable and responsible design. I believe architecture has the power to positively impact both people and the planet, and I aim to integrate sustainable solutions into every space I create.
When I’m not thinking about architecture, you’ll likely find me working on personal projects such as a bakery me and my sister are doing as a startup, 3d printing and working on my house which im designing from scratch in order to build it one day.
I look forward to helping you bring your vision to life — with creativity, care, and a fresh perspective towards sustainable design.
